Validation Engine helps identify common data entry mistakes:
Validate Artifact data parameters (doors, containers, etc)
Validate Artifact and Monster locations
Check for incorrect room connections
Verify an adventure has a light-source artifact if there are dark rooms
Validate linked description chains
Check for TODO's in object descriptions
HTML Report Generator creates formatted HTML report listing all components: Rooms, Artifacts, Monsters and Effects.
Immediately play the adventure being edited with 1-click - no need to boot the Main Hall or Dungeon Designer.
Character editor for use during play-testing.
Supports 6- or 10-direction dungeons.
Instructions:
When the application is started, it will prompt you for a folder on your computer. This should be a valid Eamon adventure folder containing the standard Eamon adventure
database files. Typically, this will be one of the dungeon designer slots (DGN-1 or DGN-2). See the Eamon Dungeon Designer manual for more information.
Use the Edit menu to add, edit or delete Eamon adventure components such as Rooms and Monsters.
The Utility menu contains some useful features to aid in Adventure creation:
Validate - Runs the validation engine to check for potential data entry errors
Append Direction Names - Adds visible direction abbreviations to Room names (Example: (N/S/E)
Generate Doors/Gates - Quickly creates fully-configured doors and keys
The Test menu allows you to easily play the current adventure under test without having to boot the Main Hall.
Run - Saves the current adventure and then starts a DOSBox instance and begins executing the adventure's MAIN PROGRAM
Configuration - Specifies configuration options for running the adventure. There are two tabs:
Player Tab - This lets you specify all of the details about the Player that will be used to run the adventure
Configuration Tab
Path to DOSBox.exe - This field must contain the full path to the DOSBox application executable
Path to DOSBox Configuration File - This field must contain the full path to the DOSBox configuration file that will be used to
startup the MAIN PROGRAM. The contents of this file will vary but will typically be similar to the standard configuration
file used by the Eamon Deluxe game system.
